Alcoholic Chess

May 25, 2011
By

Here is an intellectual game for the smart ass alcoholic in your group. Alcoholic chess is simple (set-up below), play a standard game of chess (full chess rules here) bu instead of pieces, use different shaped shot glasses filled with your choice of beer.

As play begins, play as your normally would, just realize that when you take a piece from your opponent, you will have to drink that shot. This makes taking stupid chances, even more stupid. Be sure you want that piece, because the more you win, the more faded you will get.

Additions / Modifications for your pleasure

  • When the game is completed, the winner must drink all glasses left on the playing board
  • Use a hard core liqueur when filling your King and Queen glasses (this will make it harsh for the winner)
  • Try using different color beer for each player to make it easier to determine which pieces are yours
  • If the game play is too slow, add a second side game like Power Hour or Century Club while playing
